I joined Saint Michael the Archangel Parish along with my elderly parents when they moved to the area in 2017. At the time I was a member of another parish, although my parents and I had attended Mass at St. Michael’s occasionally. In seeking a parish for my parents with an accessible entrance, I knew St. Michael’s would also provide moving liturgies that would “feed” us in a welcoming, multicultural community. After my parents both passed away in 2019, I wanted to become more involved in the life of the parish, signing up for two ministries at the Ministry Fair in 2020. Then COVID hit and, understandably, everything had to change.
In 2022, I volunteered to serve on the parish’s Communications Committee and later for the Parish Council. At my previous parish, I was involved in several ministries involving youth, and my husband and I helped with delivering the Pre-Cana course for engaged couples. I also served on the Parish Council.
I was born and raised in Connecticut, and my ancestral roots are in Mexico and The Dominican Republic.
