MARIA CRISTINA R. SIAN brings over 28 years of experience managing the day-to-day needs of Executive-level staff, particularly Ambassadors, Attaches, and diplomats. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree, Major in Economics and graduated from Assumption Convent, Manila, Philippines.
Mrs. Sian is currently working at the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia Armed Forces Office in Washington, D.C., as Secretary to the Naval Attaché. She has been working with the Saudi Arabia Armed Forces Office from the time she arrived in the U.S. in October, 1993. She is responsible for managing the Naval Attaché’s calendar of appointments, travel itineraries, social functions, and other various secretarial needs of the Attaché and diplomatic staff.
Prior to immigrating to the United States, Maria Cristina worked for the Embassy of Sweden for 9 years from August 1984 –August 1993. She started in the Embassy of Sweden in an entry-level position of receptionist, and, within a month, she was promoted to the position of Secretary to the Ambassador / Assistant to the Administration Officer, a position which she successfully and responsibly handled for four (4) years. She was responsible for all the social and secretarial needs of the Ambassador and assisted in the management of the Embassy office, office staff and leased houses of the diplomats. Because of her successful performance, proven abilities to multi-task, and communication skills, she was later promoted to the position of Administrative Officer. She was the Administration Officer of the Embassy for 5 years before she immigrated to the U.S.
Prior to working with the Embassy of Sweden in Manila Philippines, Mrs. Sian was an independent licensed real estate broker.
Mrs. Sian has been a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish since 1993. Since September, 2018, Mrs. Sian has served as a member of the Parish Council. She has also been a member of the Filipino American Ministry since 1998, serving as a member of its Board of Directors with the positions of secretary, lector and choir member. Mrs. Sian has been a member of the Neocatechumenal Way since 2006.
