We received our first Bid for the refurbishing of our pews in 2006. Since that time many other projects have shown themselves to be priorities. Over the years we have replaced the windows in the rectory, painted the exterior of the church and rectory and satisfied the parish debt in closing the school. The roofs have been repaired or replaced, walls painted and the ageing and frayed carpet replaced. The tabernacle has been restored to its place of prominence and funds were raised for a new organ. Now we come again to the pews. The plan was to raise funds for the pews and then proceed to their restoration. The Pandemic intervened. While we have available funds for this project I ask your help in replacing them. As soon as we complete one project, another more urgent one never fails to surface. Even now the bathrooms in the school need our attention and the HVAC system is a year younger than I am…
Over the years many of you have been extravagant in your generosity. In these very difficult financial times I ask you to join me in coming to the assistance of our parish, again. For the good of the parish I will donate the first $500.00 towards our Pew Restoration Project goal of $127,000. As many as you who can I ask that you match or exceed my poor donation. It does not begin to match what I have received from God and you during my years here. I also ask that we join our prayers together in praying for the success of this project and all that we do for the praise and glory of God. Please give what you can as often as you can to make of our sanctuary a fitting place for the worship of God.
Towards this end a GO FUND ME CHARITY campaign has been established and can be viewed here. Donations by check or in cash can be made in the usual ways; addressed to the parish for the benefit of “Pew Restoration”.
Please give this request your prayerful consideration and know of my gratitude and daily prayers for each one of you.
