The Sodality is pleased to invite you and your family to celebrate Black Catholic History Month as a parish during the month of November. Join Sr. Marcia Hall from the Oblate Sisters of Providence in Baltimore on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. for a virtual presentation on the inspiring life story of Mother Mary Lange, renowned educator and founder of the first community of religious sisters in the U.S. for women of color in 1829.
Mother Mary Lange is one of six Black individuals on the path of Sainthood. During her lifetime, the Oblates not only educated African American children, but they housed orphans and the vulnerable elderly. In 1832 the Sisters also cared for the terminally ill during the cholera epidemic. Mother Mary Lange practiced her faith to an extraordinary degree. It was her deep faith which enabled her to persevere against all odds.
The heroic life of Mother Lange gives us an instructive example of service to “the least of these” and provides us an opportunity to pray for her cause for Sainthood. Learn more about this historic woman and let us learn from her legacy on December 2nd. Please use the following link to access the presentation:
