The Communications Committee supports the communication and evangelization efforts of the faith community at St Michael the Archangel Parish. Our primary mission is to facilitate the parish’s internal and external communications so that parishioners, visitors and the community at large are informed of parish activities, services and information. The committee maintains the parish’s email communications, Mass announcements, bulletin, Parish Times contribution as well as the website and social media platforms. In addition to the goals outlined in the Pastoral Plan, the committee is also deeply committed to the creation of new initiatives that will increase the parish’s presence in Silver Spring and in the lives of those it touches. 

Current members of the Communications Committee are: Janice Hamilton Outtz (Chair), Judith Hayes, John Webster, Mary Ann Robertson, Jim Robertson, Helder Hernandez, Edwin Mendez, Sonya Gray, Cindy Mendez, Lisa Taylor, and Maria Carmona.

Communications Committee Goals from the Pastoral Plan:

1. Enhance communications from St. Michael's leadership to the Parish in order to increase community engagement. 

2. Provide communications pathways that empower parishioners to get involved and provide feedback.

3. Establish a visible presence in downtown Silver Spring that invites people and families from all walks of life into the Parish.

The committee welcomes volunteers who are interested in donating their time or talents to support our mission and celebrate together as one faith community. The committee meets online every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7pm.
