It is extremely important for parishioners and non-parishioners to contact the rectory immediately and without hesitation to inform the priests and rectory staff of any homebound and sick parishioners for pastoral care. They can do so by calling 301.589.1155.
Our priests are readily available to offer the sacraments of the Eucharist, Reconciliation (Penance), and Anointing of the Sick for the ill and homebound. Parishioners are encouraged not to wait or hesitate to report this information, in particular when doing so will delay the person receiving the sacrament before his/her condition worsens or becomes critical. Prior to surgery or hospitalization, parishioners should receive the sacraments. They should just contact the rectory or a priest at 301.589.1155. Please note that a Catholic may receive the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick if the person is either seriously ill, of old age, or has a serious medical condition. The Anointing of the Sick "is not a sacrament for those only who are at the point of death (CCC, 1514)." As stated, it is for sick parishioners.
