Are you called to Care for God's Creation? Maybe you're interested in sustainability issues as climate change progresses, such as water and energy conservation and protecting the environment. If so, please join the St. Michael's Green Team!
We are particularly looking for volunteers to coordinate fundraising efforts for the first phase of our Green Project, which involves converting the property of the Parish Center (the old school across Wayne Ave. from the church) into a greener and much more natural space. A contractor has already been selected for the first phase of the project, and our next step is to raise the funds necessary to begin construction.
We are also looking for volunteers to help lead a number of other (some much smaller!) projects around the parish. Finally, as part of a National Wildlife Sacred Grounds effort, we need individuals who would be willing to take a leading part in encouraging members of the parish to plant native plants, implement other environmentally-friendly actions at home, and participate in focus groups centered on this effort.
If you are interested in being a part of any of these activities or have a general interest in caring for our environment, please contact Darrell Smith at
