With sorrow and hope in Christ's resurrection, we share the news of death of of Fr. Dominic Ashkar.  Fr. Dominic passed over to eternal life on Friday, February 21.
 
Fr. Dominic was a retired priest of the Maronite Church, an Eastern Church in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church, and was known and loved by many in our parish for his faithful worship at Mass at St. Michael's in recent years, together with his sister, Julie Ashkar.
 
Funeral rites for Fr. Dominic will be held at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Church, in Washington, DC, where he formerly served as pastor.  A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 9, 4-7pm, followed by an incense service at 7:30pm.  The funeral liturgy will be on Monday, March 10 at 11am.
